Rich Girls - "La Novia"

Rich Girls - "La Novia"

We’re excited to premiere “La Novia,” the brand new single from Rich Girls. Last year, we had the pleasure of chatting with Luisa Black, the songwriter behind the project, on Local Fidelity and we also featured their dark and downtempo cover of Bruce Springsteen’s American classic, “Born To Run.” Black’s latest release captures a bit of a different vibe, and instead totally nails a more uplifting and ethereal synth-heavy sound.

“La Novia” is thick with atmosphere, feeling loose and free, with layers that steadily expand before contracting for brief moments, only to shimmer again with dizzying synths. The song is guided by an alluring electro-beat and a short, hook-y burst of keys that repeatedly push their way to the forefront. The lyrics are cryptic and evocative, sparking feelings of adventure, escape and new beginnings, as Black sings of dancing all night and finding love in new places. “La Novia” is Spanish for “the bride,” which Black sings as the track’s final refrain, further illuminating those aforementioned themes of escape and new beginnings.

Stream the track below! You can also pre-save the track, which drops tomorrow, on Spotify. It’s the first release on the new Brooklyn-based music collective and label, Mini Mart Music
