Glom - “Virginia”

New York’s Glom are not only known for their great shoegaze-y tunes, but the dude behind the project is well versed in the area of funny reels. His social media prowess has converted those eyes to ears on his music with a steadily growing audience over the last few years. 2024 saw the project share a string of standalone singles, culminating with the recent release of “Virginia.” 

“Virginia” illuminates more of what Glom thrives off of as a project. The song’s instrumentation is hazy and enveloping, driven by a gentle, almost shimmering guitar riff that feels both nostalgic and hopeful. The vocals guide the track and are delivered with a tender vulnerability. The lyrics are poetic and evocative, painting vivid pictures without being overly explicit and focusing on familiar beach-centric themes.
