Julieta Rod - “otro planeta”

The Copehagen by way of Argentina songwriter Julieta Rod is currently in the midst of a musical evolution. Following the release of a string of memorable singles and a sharply crafted EP entitled Desencanto, Julieta sought out new musical horizons. With almost four years between releases, she had time to explore, experiment, and morph into something less restrained by style and genre. The resulting collection of songs, otro planeta, are expansive and free-flowing, with layered instrumentation, pointed percussive patterns, and intimate lyrical themes.  Working with producer and instrumentalist Stephen Burns at the helm, otro planeta sees Rod embracing a new sound.

Today we’re excited to premiere the titular single, “otro planeta,” along with a lyric video. The song feels blissfully somnambulant, driven by hazy guitars and a patient, lo-fi beat that kicks in with immediacy. The well textured track spins soft aural threads and espouses feelings of longing, nostalgia, and heartache. Rod’s delicate vocals, combined with the song’s vivid instrumentation, bring these emotions to life.
