Murder Tag - “Full Moon” b/w “Eternal”

Murder Tag - “Full Moon” b/w “Eternal”

Murder Tag is one of the newest Brooklyn bands on the scene, but they originally only existed as an on-screen group for a horror film created by Jen Meller. However, it seems as if their antics on the silver screen were too good for a one off, staged performance, so drummer extraordinaire and songwriter Carlo Minchillo (The Planes, Brooklyn Drum Collective) set out to solidify the trio as a legit outfit. With Stephanie Gunther of Desert Sharks on bass and Mike Borchardt of Nihiloceros on guitar, the band features three familiar faces in Brooklyn’s thriving music scene, and their chemistry is undeniable.

The supergroup’s first two offerings, “Full Moon” and “Eternal,” are both downright hair-raising and offer a glimpse into what this quasi concept-project has to offer.  “Full Moon” is simultaneously chugging and creepy, revolving around thick bass lines and Minchillo’s powerful drumming, while Gunther focuses her words on the supernatural: “Swallow down all the sinners. The saints as well. Cuz with that full moon fever, you can’t break the spell.” “Eternal” is similar in its darkness and spine-tingling lyrical focus, but different in its tempo and energy. The guitars are invitingly distorted, and the eerie, resonant chorus flows like a ghost passing through you. It’s guaranteed to give you chills.

You can stream both tracks below!

Both “Full Moon” and “Eternal” are available to purchase on Bandcamp. You can also check them out on your streaming platform of choice. Keep up with the band by following them on Instagram and liking them on Facebook.
