Le Pain - "Obvious to You"

Le Pain - "Obvious to You"

Los Angeles’ Le Pain are pretty new, but they’re already making a big impression thanks to their unique sonic blend of psychedelia, twee, and baroque pop. It’s a style that has roots in the 60s and 70s but found a home again beginning in the 90s through some great Elephant Six adjacent acts like The Essex Green and Beulah. The music is cheery, clean, and somewhat experimental, but nicely structured, and without question, firmly rooted in the tenets of pop music. Their latest single, “Obvious To You,” blossoms from the strong vocal harmonies of sisters Olivia and Madeline Babuka Black and is oh so melodically pleasing, with chiming guitar work that’ll set your heart aflutter. If it’s rainy and glum where you’re currently at, then a quick spin of “Obvious To You” should help the sunshine peek through the clouds.
