ACID Announce Release of ACID BOX, Share Video for "Penetration"

Yesterday, Los Angeles’ ACID announced the forthcoming release of not one, not two, but THREE albums: RomanceScience Fiction With Acid and Persona. All three records are set for release on October 29th via Narnack Records and come in some incredible packaging. The albums will be available for individual sale or as a limited edition box set titled ACID BOX. The ACID BOX is a uniquely designed, playable instrument that can be amplified, like an electric guitar, via the high fidelity 1/4” audio jack on the box’s spine. When plugged into an amplifier, tapping, thumping, and brushing the box will cause it to elicit mysterious percussive sounds. ACID BOX  houses all three LPs on glow-in-the-dark vinyl (181 gram), a special ACID laser pen that illuminates the LPs, and a limited edition poster.

In conjunction with the announcement, the duo of Jeff Hassay and Imaad Wasif also shared the lead single from the collection, “Penetration,” and an accompanying video. The song has a bit of an acid jazz vibe to it, but it’s super sludgy and the guitar riffs get are of the face melting variety. It reminds me of something that’d come out of 1970’s Canterbury, but with more of a blues influence. The video is equally entertaining, as it features puppet versions of Hassay and Wasif performing the song. It rocks.

Stream the video below! We’ve also included a special video of the band unboxing the ACID BOX, so you can see what it’s all about.
