Laurel Canyon - “Garden of Eden”
Laurel Canyon remains one of the most exciting bands in New York City. Their live shows are already the stuff of legend. Since they first burst onto the scene in 2021, they’ve only gotten more raucous and intense. Thankfully, they’ve never had difficulty mirroring these high-energy live performances in their recorded output. Their recent EP, East Side, is proof that they’re getting even better at it. It’s a wild ride to the depth of hell and back with the middle track, “Garden of Eden,” serving as a highlight.
“Garden of Eden” is gloriously sludgely. The low ends are the focal point, and as to be expected with this outfit, the guitars are doused in blazing fuzz. Recorded with Gordon Raphael, the song takes no prisoners in its all-out assault of your eardrums.
