Almost Sex - "Lie Heartfelt"

Almost Sex - "Lie Heartfelt"

We’re excited to premiere “Lie Heartfelt,” the latest single from Brooklyn’s Almost Sex. We’ve been following this new, pandemic-birthed project closely since they dropped their first single, “Knockoff,” back in September. Their origin story is unique to our times, as the duo of multi-instrumentalist Nick Louis and lyricist Warren LaSota originally met and collaborated online while quarantined in early 2020 before finally meeting in person later in the year.

The project’s sound transcends genres, mixing the more traditional foundations of melodic indie-pop with bubbling electronic elements that permeate to the surface. On “Lie Heartfelt,” they continue to build off of this unique hybrid, but lean more heavily into a saturated synth sound that centers on a sultry and intimate vocal performance from Louis. With a stroking beat that gradually accelerates in intensity, he passionately describes the uncertainty of feelings of love and lust, with LaSota joining him during the swelling, anthemic choruses. It’s a track filled with plenty of passion, danceable beats, and an intoxicating rhythm, the latter of which has become the trademark of this up-and-coming project.

“Lie Heartfelt” is out today, and you can stream it on Spotify. Keep up with Almost Sex by following them on Instagram and liking them on Facebook.
