LUKEINTERNET - "Simple Options" b/w "In My Room"

The latest tracks from LUKEINTERNET, the electronic-pop project of Luke Santy of HYPEMOM, just dropped today. We’re super thrilled to premiere it here on Look At My Records!

The two songs, “Simple Options” and “In My Room,” have a common infectious thread in their sweeping rhythms.  “Simple Options” starts off rather sparsely with Santy singing a bit like Morrisey and an acapella beat that’s driven by handclaps and vocal percussion.  The beat really drops around the minute mark and powers forward with drum pad loops, manipulated vocals, and different fierce and contagious percussive elements. “In My Room” wastes no time getting going with some dense, low-frequency bass throbs and a beat that kicks in immediately and doesn’t let up. The song features some quirky sounding samples and a series of warm harmonies that are reminiscent of something you’d hear in a Panda Bear song. It moves along softly when compared with “Simple Options,” making it a more chill, end of summer listen that’ll help ease you into the next season.
