Marc Del Giudice - “Daylight Hours”

Marc Del Giudice - “Daylight Hours”

New Jersey’s Marc Del Giudice has made a name for himself in local music circles as the charismatic frontman of Asbury Park’s Morningside Lane. But if you frequent the streets of downtown Jersey City, you’ve likely spotted him with an acoustic guitar in tow shuffling between open mics and intimate songwriter showcases. All the while, Del Guidice has been carefully crafting his very first set of solo songs, the first of which, “Daylight Hours,” is out today.

“Daylight hours” is a strong first effort, as it gives listeners a glimpse into Del Giudice’s honest and direct songwriting style. The song is rife with heart on your sleeve, narrative-style lyrics that reflect his anxiety-driven propensity for avoiding the mornings and early afternoons. He confronts these feelings head-on, singing “I sing these feelings to fight off my demons that burb in my head. I stay in bed today. Must be a condition the simplest decisions got a hold on me and it always ruins my day.” Sonically, “Daylight Hours” has a summery, washed-out vibe to it with reverb-soaked guitars and gorgeous harmonies that evoke feelings of a serene July afternoon.
