Nihiloceros - "Krong"

Nihiloceros - "Krong"

Nihiloceros is a band that straight up rips. The trio play hard and fast with reckless abandon. Their last release, “Skipper,” was a dark and brooding barn burner that leapt out of the gates at the opening chords. With similar escape velocity, their brand new track “Krong” utilizes a lighter sonic palette in exploring more existential themes.

“Krong” has all the markings of a classic Nihiloceros track. Their rapid fire, dueling guitar-drum attack is still the song’s backbone, but “Krong” is decidedly poppier, though the breakdown at the minute and a half mark is a firm reminder of their omnipresent edge. The trio enters sludgier territory to put a bow on “Krong,” while lyrically, exploring a more centered and present shift in perspective.

Nihiloceros will be celebrating the release of “Krong” with a special release show tonight at Alphaville. Castle Black, A Very Special Episode, and No Jersey are also on the bill. You can get your tickets ahead of time via Dice.fm.

“Krong” is available now on all streaming platforms. Keep up with the band by following them on Instagram.
